American College of Preventive Medicine





Established in 1954, the American College of Preventive Medicine is the national
professional society for physicians committed to health promotion and disease

prevention.  It is a unique medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Preventive Medicine encompasses multiple “population-based” and clinical approaches to health care. Preventive Medicine, offering board certification in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, and Occupational Medicine is defined by a set of core competencies including:

 

  • Biostatistics and Epidemiology
  • Management, Administration, and Policy
  • Clinical Preventive Medicine
  • Occupational and Environmental Health
