Serco Awarded Open Space Contract by Melbourne

Serco has been awarded a 3-year contract extension to continue providing diverse open space management and maintenance services to keep Melbourne’s public spaces safe and looking their best.

Since 2014, Serco has managed more than 500 hectares of Melbourne’s CBD open spaces, including Fitzroy Gardens, the Shrine of Remembrance, and the historic Queen Victoria Gardens, which are home to the iconic Floral Clock. Across two city regions, Serco maintain more than 4 million square meters of grasslands, turf, and sporting grounds and care for more than 300,000 square meters of floral beds. Through their services, they manage and protect the council’s investment in parks, gardens, buildings, and infrastructure, recognizing that the distinctive physical character of a city is a major contributing factor to its economic and social vitality. The 3-year extension will see Serco continue providing these services until the end of March 2024.
