YTFS Articles Return Under New Name

Changes have been instituted for the popular “You’re the Flight Surgeon” (YTFS) category of articles in the journal.

These articles depict a clinical case followed by a series of multiple-choice questions. The correct answer for each question is noted with a detailed explanation as to why it is correct. The Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance (AMHP) Editorial Board has approved the following: 1) the YTFS category will be renamed: Aerospace Medicine Clinic (AMC); 2) the AMC category will now be submitted directly through Editorial Manager and peer-reviewed (YTFS was not); and 3) submissions will be encouraged from all qualified authors who wish to submit an AMC manuscript. For any manuscript which does not fit the parameters, an exception may be granted. The Editorial Office can be contacted to discuss the submission.
The journal thanks Dr. Richard Allnut, who recently stepped down as the Associate Editor for Resident Case Reports and handled the YTFS manuscripts very efficiently, and Elaine Kawano, who retired last year and really kept things moving smoothly with the YTFS feature. Dr. Rebecca Blue will be taking over as the Associate Editor for the new AMC category. She has been a frequent author and reviewer for the Blue Journal and has served on the Editorial Board.
