Welcome the Blue Journal's New Assistant to the Editor
At the end of December 2022, Deb Sventek, Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance’s (AMHP’s) Assistant to the Editor, retired. With her retirement, a new assistant was hired and started at the beginning of January.
Sandy Kawano, B.A., is the new Assistant to the Editor for AMHP. She retired from the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine in 2019 after over 30 years as a technical writer-editor for both the Navy and Air Force, serving at locations in California, Japan, Texas, and Ohio. She currently volunteers as a technical editor for the Residency in Aerospace Medicine (RAM) program at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, where she edits and formats the RAM’s Aerospace Medicine Clinic articles and AsMA abstracts/presentations/posters. She also edits and produces FlightLines, the newsletter of the Society of U.S. Air Force Flight Sur geons. She enjoys working out to Zumba and, in her spare time, baking breads and bagels. Sandy and her husband Seiji live in Terre Haute, IN.
