Proposed Bylaws Change

In accordance with Article XII of the Bylaws of the Aerospace Medical Association, the following proposed change to the Bylaws are printed herein.

   They will be voted upon at the next Annual Business Meeting to be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The meeting is open and all members are encouraged to attend (no lunch purchase is necessary to participate in the meeting).
   The omissions are listed as strikethroughs. The additions are italicized and underlined.

ARTICLE II. VISION, MISSION, AND GOALS
D. Goals:
(1) Provide governance of the Association to maintain a sound financial structure and ensure continuity of the Association.
(1) Provide opportunities for education and promote research.
(2) Provide members opportunities for professional growth and development.
(3) Represent the discipline of Aerospace Medicine to professional, commercial, and governmental organizations and advocate policies and standards.
   Governance of the Association is necessary to maintain a sound financial structure and ensure continuity of the Association in service to its goals.
   Rationale: Governance of the Association is not a goal, but a means to achieving the other three goals and, as such, should be stated differently.
