AOPA Commemorated with Senate Resolution

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s (AOPA’s) 80th anniversary was commemorated with a Senate resolution passed on May 13.

The resolution was led by Sens. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL). Since 1939, AOPA has represented the interests of general aviation pilots across the United States and has tirelessly advocated to protect the freedom to fly. The bipartisan resolution acknowledged AOPA’s legacy, including its role in growing the pilot population, advocating for aviation safety, and protecting and promoting aviation in the United States. Other cosponsors and key supporters of the resolution include Sens. John Boozman (R-AR), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Steve Daines (R-MT), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Pat Roberts (R-KS), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Joe Manchin (D-WV).
