This year the RAM (Residents in Aerospace Medicine) Bowl was held Tuesday afternoon and was followed by a reception. There were 7 teams this year which made the format very interesting.

This event tests the knowlege of the residents in a format similar to “It’s Academic” where questions are fired off and the first one to the buzzer has to answer (but not in the form of a question--it isn’t “Jeopardy!”). Below: The MC for the event was Al Parmet, Jan Stepanek was the score-keeper and provided the MC with the questions via iPad with wireless connectivity, and Hernando “Bugs” Ortega, President of the sponsor, the American Society of Aerospace Medicine Specialists, oversaw the event. Joe McKeon was the referee (not pictured).

The team from UTMB (below) was this year’s winner, in spite of a mishap with one of their star contestants when Rebecca Blue fell between two platforms.
